  Swimming   Gymnastics   Athletics
Each week for 30 weeks of the year the children of years 3 and 4 go for a swimming lesson at the Friary Grange Leisure Centre. All children in all years take part in regular and varied gymnastics lessons that encourage high quality movement and balance. As well as athletics lessons in school we also run a very popular club for any child in key stage 2 as well as highly competitive and enjoyable school athletics competitions.
  Dance   Games   Outdoor Education
We teach dance throughout the school as well as inviting in the Friary School and other experts to provide a range of experiences. We play all the usual games in school and take part in a number of inter-school competitions during the course of the year. Each year we take years 4 and 6 away to spend some time at one of the local outdoor education centres where they can try out activities and sports not possible in the school grounds.

  Indoor Athletics Hockey Tournament Cross-country

Boys and girls in Years 5 and 6 took part in the Lichfield School’s Indoor Athletics tournament. They competed in field and track events including the long jump, vertical jump, 4 x 1 relay, obstacle relay and many more. All of the children put in fantastic performances, leading to Christ Church finishing in third place. It was an enjoyable afternoon and we are all looking forward to next year’s event.

The school team took part in a local primary schools' hockey tournament at Lichfield Hockey Club in November. For most of the players it was their first experience of competitive hockey and while they did not win the competition by their fourth match they were showing how much they had improved with faster, more accurate passing and some dangerous attacks, while the defence was able to effectively prevent many attacks on their goal. Our girls' team recently took part in the Lichfield District Inter-schools Cross-country competition held at Whittington School. On a fine afternoon the team made entirely of girls from year 5 ran extremely well through the sand, mud, lumps and bumps to finish in second place. Next year ...
Years 2 and 3 have been given some taster sessions of tennis by coaches from Lichfield Friary Tennis Club. The children were given practice in racquet handling, grips, ball control and how to play a forehand shot. The children were given a number of entertaining exercises and competitions to try.
